Herb and Dolly Fankhanel

Herb and Dolly Fankhanel today

Herb Fankhanel and his wife, Dolly, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and look fondly back to the time when they first met on a blind date when Herb was a freshman at Williamson College of the Trades. “I can appreciate the commitment and the great opportunity Williamson provided for Herb. We experienced the highs and lows together and we both know what a difference Williamson made in our life. God has provided for us and always will and we want to help others,” Dolly shared.

Herb and Dolly FankhanelAn annual donor for over 40 years, Herb said they had been thinking about joining Wanamaker Society for some time and finally decided to take the final step. “It was always a goal to be able to provide for one student’s education and joining Wanamaker Society helped us fill the gap and complete the goal,” said Herb. “Although we are behind the scenes people and don’t like a lot of recognition, we feel good about our decision to support the school beyond our lifetime. We want to see Williamson continue to grow and flourish and this is how we can ensure that happens.”

Herb was a 7W1 graduate from Construction Technology. He and Dolly have two daughters and five grandchildren.
